Simple Web Development terms you may have forgotten the meanings to.
Xhtml: Extensible Hypertext Markup Language, a language most websites are written in.
PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor a web based scripting language for dynamic web sites, mainly used on Unix/Linux servers.
ASP: Active Server Pages, a web based scripting language for dynamic web sites, mainly used on Windows servers.
CMS: Content Management Systems, An open source Content managed website with a fully featured administrator side to manage your site.
CSS: Cascading Style Sheet, an inline or extern style sheet used for the look and feel of a website.
HTTP: Hyper Text Transfer Protocol, a networking protocol, the beginning of your URL address.
FTP: File Transfer Protocol, a method of connecting to your web server in order to upload or download information.
PX: Pixel, A unit of measurement, for measuring online web content such as text and images.
PT: Point, A unit of measurement, for measuring online web content such as text.
DNS: Domain Name System, phone book for the internet basically, taking the domain name of a site and pointing it to a server read IP address.
IP: Internet Protocol address, basically a number assigned to a domain name for internet routing.
MX: mail exchanger record, a mail record specified in your DNS settings.
Cookies: A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates (with the exception of classifieds and forums, in which cookies are used only to store user preferences and determine which messages are new since their last visit). If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site.
